George Daniel (Renji)

Mr. George Daniel (a.k.a. Renji) passed away on May 7, 2009, in his home in Wood Dale, IL. He attended the first AMICOS kick-off meeting in October 2008. He was so active and entertained all of us with the stories of his MIC experience. He had attended MIC from 1964-1968 for his B.S. in Physics.

He’s survived by his wife Mariamma and two kids (Rejani 31, a physician and Vinod 30, MBA). He was a member of the Chicago Marthoma church

Mathew George (Mohan)

Mr. Mathew George (Mohan Plammoottil), passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2012, in Dubai. He has been living in the Chicagoland area for the last 4 decades. He’s survived by his wife, Dr. Rita George and his only daughter Anita. His only brother Dr. Issac Plammotil is an ER physician and lives in Chicago.  His native place is Chengannur (near the railway station).

Mr. Mathew George’s parents were in Dubai for about 30 + years before they settled down in Chengannur. He was a member of the Malankara Catholic Church of Chicago. Mr. George was a director of a Chemistry dept. of a chemical company for several years and after taking early retirement he started a business in Dubai for about 6 years. But he traveled back and forth between Dubai and Chicago as his wife and daughter are here.

Mathew Vachaparampil (Lalichen)

It is with great sadness that I inform the AMICOS community of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Mr. Mathew Vachaparampil (Lalichen) early morning today at 1:10 AM.

Lalichen’s fight against cancer for about 5 years, was ‘admirable’.

He was an active member of AMICOS and attended most of its activities. He will be missed terribly.

Visitation Friday, March 16, 2012, at Syro Malabar Catholic Cathedral 5000 W. St. Charles Road, Bellwood, IL. from 4 until 9 P.M.

Family and friends will meet on Saturday, March 17th at the Church for a 9 A.M. Funeral Mass.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. at approx 11:30 A.M.

Francis Joseph Chackanad, age 63 of Naperville, IL, passed away suddenly, Friday, June 3, 2016, in Naperville, IL. He was born September 12, 1952, in Kainakary, of Kerala, India to his loving late parents, Joseph and Mary Chackanad.
Cherished husband of Anniamma Chackanad, wedded on March 3, 1977.
Beloved father of Reena, Rigi, and Ronia Chackanad. Francis is the youngest of 9 children.

Visitation: Monday, June 6th, 3:00-9:00 PM at Syro Malabar Catholic Church, 5000 St. Charles Road, Bellwood, IL 60104.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, June 7th, 11:00 AM at SS. Peter Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth Street, Naperville, IL 60540.

Interment to follow at SS. Peter Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
